Victoria’s Islands the Series

Three islands will feature in each programme. Some will be visited on more than one occasion during the series, where there are just too many stories for one segment. Featured are popular tourist spots, unusual and remote islands, uninhabited reserves and large communities. Islands from the NSW border to South Australia will provide the backdrop for an engaging and memorable series.

With more than 8000 islands, Australia has a wealth of island locations to visit. Victoria counts more than a hundred of these islands as its own but these represent enormous diversity of landscapes, history and interesting characters to showcase what we all love about island life.

Victoria’s Islands is a new lifestyle travel show featuring some of the 140 or more islands. Many are hidden gems, known only to a few. The show aims to share these interesting locations, beautiful scenery and fascinating local characters with a wider audience. We all know Phillip Island, famous for the penguin parade but lesser known is the unusual concept of indoor fishing at Rhyll and having your fish cooked right in front of you.

Episode 2

This week we visit three more inherently different Islands.

First we travel to the Gippsland Lakes and land on an island paradise for that long weekend or weeks holiday when you can own the island to yourself or a group of family and friends. Fraser island can accommodate up to 30 people in style and boasts a 9 hole golf course, floodlit tennis courts, a pool and party area as well as a fully equipped sports area. Aaron tries out the golf and tennis whilst Karen checks out the homestead and relaxes with a good magazine.
